Greens Industrial Relations spokesperson Adam Bandt MP today called on Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull to ditch Tony Abbott’s hardline bargaining policy for public sector workers and negotiate with public servants to ensure they get the wages and conditions they deserve.

“Malcolm Turnbull speaks about respecting our public servants, yet as Prime Minister he has continued Tony Abbott’s hardline bargaining policy for the public sector,” Mr Bandt said.

“Rather than respecting our public service and its workers, Malcolm Turnbull is continuing to outsource their work and leave some of our important public institutions, like the ATO, understaffed.”

“The Greens offer our support to those taking industrial action today and call on Malcolm Turnbull to ditch Tony Abbott’s hardline bargaining policy and sit down and negotiate a fair deal on wages and conditions for all our hardworking public servants.”
