Greens Climate Change spokesperson Adam Bandt MP today said One Nation Senator Malcolm Roberts’ proposed inquiry into climate science, the CSIRO and Bureau of Meteorology should be broadened to question other well-established scientific knowledge, including whether gravity still exists and if the Earth really does still revolve around the sun.

“Instead of asking only whether climate science is real, the One Nation Senator should have the courage of his convictions and expand the inquiry to examine whether the laws of gravity are still in force and if the Earth still revolves around the sun,” Mr Bandt said.

“If we’re going to waste public money challenging accepted scientific truths, surely the One Nation Senator could show a little more ambition.”

“This move would be laughable were it not for the fact that One Nation seems to have ever greater influence over the Turnbull government.”

“Malcolm Turnbull must immediately rule out holding any such ludicrous inquiry in order to appease One Nation.”
