Malcolm Turnbull ‘king of pollution’ as Australia’s emissions rise: Bandt
Greens Climate Change & Energy spokesperson Adam Bandt MP today called Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull the ‘king of pollution’ after news broke today that Australia’s greenhouse gas emissions have risen.
“Malcolm Turnbull once said 'we must make a dramatic reduction in the world's greenhouse gas emissions', yet Australia’s greenhouse gas emissions are actually rising under his leadership,” Mr Bandt said.
“Malcolm Turnbull is now the king of pollution.”
“By pandering to the climate-denying Trumps of his party, Malcolm Turnbull has signed Australia up to pollute even more.”
“Instead of satisfying the scientists, Malcolm Turnbull has stuck with the climate deniers and kept Tony Abbott’s expensive and clearly ineffective climate policies.”
“More pollution means more global warming. Climate change is the biggest threat to our way of life. Malcolm Turnbull has signed Australia up to more heatwaves, worse bushfires and rising sea levels.”
