    #StopAdani Roadshow

The Adani Coal mine will be the biggest coal mine in Australia’s history. This enormous carbon bomb will destroy our climate and destroy our way of life. We have to stop it.

The #StopAdani Roadshow has been organised by our friends in the climate movement. It will feature speakers including Indian campaigner Dr Vaishali Patil, who has firsthand experience in fighting Adani, and Danny Kennedy, a global renewables expert.

But this won’t just be a chance to hear from experts. This is an opportunity to plan for how each and everyone us can take action to stop this mine.

Join us at The Boatbuilder's Yard for a Friday arvo drink and chat before heading together to the #StopAdani Roadshow at the Convention Centre.

Make sure you pre-purchase your tickets here.

Public Meeting: How to save lives in Richmond

    (09.03)SIF_784x295.png

A person dies every two weeks from drug overdoses within two blocks of Victoria Street in Richmond. These deaths are preventable.

Federal Member for Melbourne Adam Bandt invites residents and community members to a public meeting to talk about how we can save lives in Richmond.

We can save lives by treating drug overdoses as a health issue not a law and order issue, and by giving people support when they need it rather than punishing them. The evidence is clear from cities around the world, including Sydney: medically supervised injecting facilities save lives.

Join us to learn the facts about a medically supervised injecting facility trial and to hear about how we can make it a reality.

    Featuring:

Dr Ingrid van Beek AM - the inaugural medical director of the successful Kings Cross supervised injecting centre

Peter Wearne - Youth Support and Advocacy Service

Colleen Hartland MLC - Victorian Greens health spokesperson

Kathleen Maltzahn - former Yarra Councillor and drug law reform advocate

    All are welcome.
