While Labor and Libs bicker on live TV, our country has no energy plan: Bandt
Greens Energy spokesperson Adam Bandt MP called on the old parties to stop the political theatre and start getting serious about a national energy plan.
“It’s ridiculous that something as serious as energy policy has descended into the farce of shirt-fronted press conferences and billion dollar thought bubbles," said Mr Bandt.
“Good on South Australia for standing up to the disgraceful Federal government, that has allowed the energy crisis to fester, but when Premiers have to shirtfront Ministers at press conferences, the country has lost its way.
“What we need is a national plan to get off coal and gas and build a renewable energy system backed by storage, but Labor and the Liberals have shown that they aren’t up to the challenge.
“We need a national energy plan that has all the states on board, not cherry picked ideas and thought bubbles from the Prime Minister.
"The fact there has been no proper consultation with NSW or Victoria, the other co-owners of Snowy Hydro, shows this is policy on the run from a Prime Minister who has been nobbled by the coal lobby.”
