Greens Climate Change & Energy spokesperson Adam Bandt MP said that the Clean Energy Regulator’s latest National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting data showing emissions have risen means Australia is now getting dirtier under ‘king of pollution’ Malcolm Turnbull.

The report released late today shows that scope 1 greenhouse gas emissions rose 2.2 per cent from the previous year.

“Australia is getting dirtier under the ‘King of Pollution’ Malcolm Turnbull,” Mr Bandt said.

“By pandering to the climate change denying Trumps of his party, Malcolm Turnbull has signed Australia up to pollute even more.”

“More pollution means more global warming and a greater threat to the Australian way of life.”

“Malcolm Turnbull has signed Australia up to more heatwaves, worse bushfires and rising sea levels.”
