CLIMATE EMERGENCY - GLOBAL STRIKE

May_24_global_climate_strike.jpg

We are in a climate emergency.

Australia is in the thick of the climate crisis. Prolonged drought cripples farming communities. Flash flooding is creating chaos in cities. Catastrophic bushfires and severe cyclones threaten people’s homes. Heatwaves are sweeping the nation. Half the Great Barrier Reef is dead.

And yet Scott Morrison's government wants to detonate a climate bomb with Adani and more coal exports.

We need to mobilise for emergency action to keep the planet safe for future generations.

School students and others are walking out on strike to tell our politicians to take all of us seriously and start treating climate change for what it is: a crisis and the biggest threat to our generation and generations to come.

The Greens support the school students and others around the world who are going on strike for a safe climate.

Greens MPs, members and supporters will be marching in solidarity with students and others on strike. Join us.

Greens supporters will be gathering from 11:45am at the corner of Bourke St and Spring St outside the Imperial Hotel (opposite Parliament House) before joining the main rally.
