Melburnians Urged to Rise Above Hatred
Melbourne MP Adam Bandt today responded to the terror-related incident at Endeavour Hills police station.
“This tragic event has seen two officers injured and a teenager die,” said Mr Bandt.
“We are all hoping for a speedy recovery for the officers and my thoughts are with them and the families of everyone involved.
“It is time for us all to come together as a community and work out how to stop these kinds of tragedies from happening.
“I appeal to everyone living in the community to put hatred aside.
“Be vigilant but more importantly, don’t let hatred spoil what is best about our city.
“Melbourne is a success story of acceptance and of different cultures living side by side. That is precious.
“It is at times like this that we must come together, guard what’s best about Melbourne and our country, and ensure that we all remain safe,” said Mr Bandt.
