WHY VOLUNTEER AT POLLING BOOTHS?
Polling booths are our last chance to connect with voters before they cast their ballot.
Every conversation at a polling booth is an opportunity to shift a vote and increase our chances of winning Melbourne. One in three voters at a polling booth will decide their vote on election day and we know from experience that a booth with lots of volunteers increases our vote by about ~25%.
We want to talk to every voter before they enter their polling booth, making sure they know what Adam stands for and the power of their vote in Melbourne.
We’ve already won Melbourne three times before and we can do it again, but we need your help.
VOLUNTEER FOR EARLY VOTING
DATES : Monday 29 April - Friday 17 May
This election it is predicted that almost 50% of voters in Melbourne will vote early. This makes early voting more important than ever before!
We need volunteers outside each booth, handing out how-to-vote cards and having conversations with voters.
VOLUNTEER FOR POLLING DAY
DATE: Saturday 18 May
Polling day is the most important and exciting day of the campaign and having a strong Greens presence at booths is key to keeping Melbourne Green.
You can help by:
Volunteering at a polling booth by handing out ‘How to Vote Cards’ to voters and helping the Greens be the most active and friendly campaign.
Making Adam as visible as possible by covering each booth in Greens material. There are 30 booths in Melbourne and it is essential that Adam and our message is as visible as possible. That means covering every booth in posters, banners and placards the night before polling day.
Guarding our materials by watching over polling booths during the night before polling day. We need to make sure our materials stay up overnight, ready for election day.
Ensuring every vote counts by watching (scrutineering) the AEC count of the votes. We need scrutineers at every booth to keep us updated with important information and ensure that every vote that should go to us, does.
