Covid 19 situation in Melbourne
There are currently a small number of Covid-19 cases in inner Melbourne. Here’s the latest information on how you can get tested and vaccinated against the virus -- so we can better protect our community.
Covid 19 Testing
If you have any symptoms, including fever, runny nose or cough, please get tested.
Local testing sites are:
- St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne - Fever Clinic, 2 - 4 Princes St Fitzroy. You do not need an appointment, if you have any symptoms however mild you can get tested here. Open 8:00am - 6:00pm each day.
- Cohealth Collingwood, 365 Hoddle Street Collingwood. Open 9:15am - 4.15pm daily (closed between 12.15-1.15pm). No appointment necessary.
- The Royal Melbourne Hospital, 300 Grattan Street, Parkville. You do not need an appointment but you must have COVID-19 symptoms to get tested here.
- Melbourne Showgrounds. Corner of Langs Road and Epsom Road in Ascot Vale. You can drive your car or walk in to get tested. You do not need an appointment. Open 8:30am - 8:00pm each day.

Covid-19 Vaccination Clinics for Public Housing Residents
ALL residents living in public housing are eligible for a free COVID-19 vaccination. I urge all residents to get vaccinated to keep you, your family and your communities safe.
Residents can access their free, effective and safe vaccination at the following locations.
You don’t need a booking, head to one of the vaccination clinics and health care workers will provide you with your vaccine.
Not a resident of public housing
Melbourne residents 40 years and over are now eligible for the Covid 19 vaccination.
Other members of our community aged under 40 may also be eligible. Check your eligibility today.
There are currently three mass vaccination sites that are within easy reach of residents in inner Melbourne.
- Carlton, Royal Exhibition Building - walk-ins are welcome (wait time 2 hours) but you are encouraged to make a booking.
- Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre - Walk-ins currently only available for aged care/disability workers.
- Melbourne Showgrounds - Corner of Langs Road and Epsom Road in Ascot Vale located at Pavillion 4. Walk-ins are welcome but bookings are encouraged.
