THE VOICE REFERENDUM WILL BE HELD ON SATURDAY 14 OCTOBER 2023

This is your chance to demand a future where no matter who we are, we are all treated equally, where First Nations people are respected, listened to and no longer left behind.

3 things you can do today to support the Yes campaign

1. Show your support.

Put a YES poster in your window. You'll receive a Yes poster in your letterbox shortly, you can also pick one up from my office, or print your own.

2. Join me at a local campaign event

There's so many opportunities to get involved between now and 14 October.

3. Make a plan to vote.

Early voting starts Monday 2 October. Information about local polling places will be posted here when available.

I'm saying YES

This referendum is a positive step towards implementing the Uluru Statement from the Heart, written and developed by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people after consultation across the country.

The Voice is about making sure First Nations people are listened to when the Government creates policies that directly affect them.

If an overwhelming majority of people say YES, then governments are more likely to enact the policies that First Nations people have been fighting for for decades.

We will have the momentum for real and practical change when it comes to issues like health, education, jobs, protecting country, justice and housing.

We cannot let this referendum fail. If we fail, we go backwards.

As your local MP, I am committed to fighting to implement all parts of the Uluru Statement from the Heart – Truth, Treaty and Voice.

Melbourne has always led the way on big social and political changes, let’s do it again.

A better future is possible. Join me in saying YES.
