Government’s backing of CRCs rings hollow after budget cuts: Greens
Greens industry spokesperson Adam Bandt MP today said the government’s response to the Review of the Cooperative Research Centres Programme backing continued operation of the programme rings hollow with the $26 million in cuts announced in the Budget last week.
“The government can’t on the one hand claim to support Cooperative Research Centres but then on the other hand cut their funding by $26 million,” Mr Bandt said.
“The Greens remain concerned that with a backwards-facing industry policy and a narrower focus for these centres, the government is continuing to damage science and research in this country.”
