Turnbull must have the courage to take on Liberal Party base on tax reform: Greens
Greens Treasury spokesperson Adam Bandt MP today called on Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull to have the courage to stand up to the Liberal Party base and make our tax system fairer by starting tax reform at the top, not at the bottom.
“Malcolm Turnbull needs to have the courage to stand up to the Liberal Party base and make our tax system fairer,” Mr Bandt said.
“Tax reform should start at the top, not at the bottom.”
“We need to get rid of unfair tax breaks to raise the revenue to pay for the services people rightly expect."
“In a tax reform debate where supposedly everything is on the table, all we’re hearing from the government is talk of making people pay more for everything they buy.”
“The Greens have put forward a number of costed proposals that would help balance the books and raise the revenue we need by ending unfair tax breaks for the very wealthy and big polluters.”
