WHAT DOES THE WESTERN DISTRIBUTOR TOLL ROAD MEAN FOR MELBOURNE?
The Victorian Labor government has said that it will spend over $1.5 billion on Transurban’s Western Distributor toll road.
The toll road will have exit ramps into areas near the Docklands, West Melbourne and North Melbourne, and a City of Melbourne report has found that it is likely to substantially increase traffic in these areas as well as nearby suburbs including Carlton and Parkville. But so far, little information has been provided to residents and communities in these areas.
Come to find out more about what this project means for Melbourne and the public transport alternatives for our city.
